Training For Advance Care Planning Advocates – PM Session

July 24, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm PDT

PM Training Description

Individuals interested in promoting advance care planning are invited to a free training program that will enable participants to become part of a community-wide movement to help individuals make their own health care choices. Today, too many people die in a way they would not choose, while leaving families feeling burdened, guilty and uncertain. Advance care planning enhances quality of life by ensuring that plans are developed to address end-of-life care decisions in accordance with personal wishes.

Utilizing training materials developed by the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California, the program is presented by Janet Thompson, Senior Living Counselor, St. Paul’s Towers Continuing Care Retirement Community

*PM Training Session

The afternoon session offers:

  • Additional training on presentation techniques.
  • Training and tools to facilitate “the Conversation” about end-of-life care preferences.
  • Interactive discussion in which attendees share their experiences and best practices.
  • Previously trained advance care planning advocates are encouraged to attend this afternoon session.

*Please note: You may RSVP for the AM Session, the PM Session, or both. To attend both sessions, RSVP separately for each training session.
